Access and road conditions

The Vršič road can be affected by season, weather and traffic. Before travelling, check current access information and plan enough time for the mountain road.

Parking

Parking rules and availability around Vršič can change by season and operator. Check the latest parking information before arrival, especially in busy periods.

If you plan to stay overnight, check room availability in advance. This is especially important during the hiking season, weekends and good-weather periods.

Imagine your day or even a week without electronic gadgets and devices. Forget about availability, missing notifications, emails, phone and face calls, digital pokes, and all other habits you developed in the last couple of years. You can imagine your life without a tablet, computer, or smartphone — no online obligation. There is no mobile service, not even a bad and slow Wi-Fi signal, but no signal at all.

Spend time with like-minded people who feel worn out by the pace of the modern world and the constant presence of technology. If you sometimes feel empty or lonelier with each passing day, you are far from alone. Many people today struggle to feel calm and comfortable in their own company. Somewhere along the way, we began to lose touch with real human connection and found it easier to turn to screens instead.

Hours spent online every day, simply filling time, cannot replace genuine moments, meaningful relationships, and real experiences.

“If you meet a loner, no matter what they tell you, it’s not because they enjoy solitude. It’s because they have tried to blend into the world before, and people continue to disappoint them.”

—Jodi Picoult

Are you felling lonely?

The time you feel lonely is the time you most need to be by yourself.

We have an invitation for you

We are gathering in a remote location in the mountain hut in the middle of the national park and living a slow, no-stress life, healing addiction to bad Wi-Fi or no Wi-Fi signal at all, social media, and other stuff that is stilling our life away in the name of the excuse that we need it and that it feels better.

We have an invitation for you

When was the last time you pureed yourself a glass of the poison of your choice, sat comfortably on the couch, covered with a cosy blanket, and did nothing else but listen to your favourite music by the fire?

Are you felling lonely?

When was the last time you played cards or board games the whole night, not watching on the watch or thinking how you would get up the next day? When was the last time that you read a book? You can also help us with a daily routine of things that need to be done around the mountain hut.

When was the last time you sat and talked with strangers, sharing your experiences, listening to theirs and becoming friends with people you didn’t know a day before?

Meeting new people can be hard

If you are a lone wolf and enjoy the company of yourself and yourself only, there are also many things for you to do alone.

You can be hiking when nobody is around for kilometres, skiing, or just sitting and watching the mountains and nature surrounding you. You would be surprised how many different faces the mountains have. It is different every single day. Some days, you can see twenty waterfalls on the hill; others, you can see none. Avalanches can wake you up. They are so loud and scary but beautiful to watch from a safe distance. Not to mention the stars in the night sky on a clear night.

Erjavčeva koča is located in the right spot for all of that. All daily indoor activities happen in our restaurant or living room, and in the photo gallery, you can also check all the surrounding pictures.
