You can always walk to us whether you start from Kranjska Gora or the other side, from Trenta. Erjavceva mountain hut is 1525 meters high between curves 22 and 23, 500 meters from the Vršič mountain pass at 1611 meters.
Whether you prefer the scenic main road or the more adventurous shortcuts, both sides offer convenient and flexible transportation options to reach Vršič mountain pass.
You can always raise a finger and hitchhike the cars going to Vršič. This way of travelling is still common and safe in Slovenia, especially in the mountains. There is only one road, and people drive to the top anyway. That’s why the wait for somebody to stop and pick you up usually doesn’t take long.

In the high summer season, a bus is driving from both directions, Kranjska Gora and Bovec, to the top of Vršič. The bus station is 300 meters away from Erjavceva mountain hut.

You can call a taxi. However, there are not many taxis around, so it may be a good idea to call to reserve one of them in advance.
If you are coming from more distant places, such as Ljubljana, Klagenfurt, or Trieste, you can get transport with Prevozi.org or Go Opti.
In some cases, especially outside of the high summer season, which is usually from December to May, we can also pick you up with a car if we have enough staff and are not occupied with daily work at the mountain hut.
