Two years ago, when we introduced the online booking and online system on Erjavčeva mountain hut, we encountered considerable disapproval from some individuals, to our surprise.

The system facilitated the booking process significantly and made it more precise. We believed the days of writing down reservations for 60 beds by hand in a notebook were long gone. Moreover, we “got rid of” numerous guests who wanted to make a reservation over the phone but did not show up at all.
More than half of such guests accounted for an extraordinary and unnecessary loss of income for the lodge.
So, we can put all reservations behind us and let the application handle it, and we can save time to do something more useful.
There is also a benefit for the guests who can see the accessible accommodations and reserve them for their needs.
For bigger groups, mountain guides, mountain training and similar, we can still arrange special deals and offers by phone or email.
The system also allows the use of various global online reservation channels such as Booking.com, Airbnb.com, HostelWorld.com, and others, which are crucial for mountain lodges’ survival.
After two years of using the system, we received a message from the Mountaineering Association of Slovenia that from this year onwards, all mountain lodges will use the same system, and online reservations will become a regular practice, which we warmly welcome.
The system significantly reduces the time spent on reservations and minimizes potential input errors to the minimum. It benefits both the lodge keepers and the guests themselves.
