Bus Kranjska Gora – Bovec via Vršič

Kranjska Gora and the Soča Valley are connected by a winding road that takes you over Slovenia’s highest pass, Vršič. As you drive along the Vršiška Road, you will pass the picturesque Jasna Lake, and between the eighth and ninth bend you will see the Russian Chapel on your left, one of the most important and beautiful witnesses to the story of the construction of the Vršiška Road. It is a story that is dark and tragic, but carries a powerful message, and at the foot of Vršič you will be greeted by the Ajdov Maiden of Ajdov. As you descend into the valley of the Soča River, you will be accompanied by the “clear daughter of the mountains” – the emerald Soča River – all the way to Bovec and on to Nova Gorica.
