Erjavčeva koča Mountain Hut: A Year-Round Alpine Hut on Vršič Pass

This recommendation is not just a generic travel guide. It’s a heartfelt suggestion from us, the locals living on Vrišič, who have the privilege of experiencing the beauty of these mountains all year round.

We are confident that this part of Slovenia is too beautiful to be rushed through. The reality is that many tourists spend only one night in our mountain hut, which is simply not enough to fully appreciate and embrace the breathtaking beauty of the nature in the Triglav National Park and beyond.

We have prepared a circle of daily trips on both roads combined. From Kranjska Gora to Bovec via Vršič, this is our summer road, and also from Kranjska Gora to Bovec via Predil, this is our winter road, when the Vršič pass is closed because of the snow and danger of avalanches.

There are simply too many natural beauties to include them all, but we included the most famous ones and kept some smaller hidden ones so you can discover them on the go.

Stay longer in Triglav National Park

Recommended Trips through Slovenia

Our strong recommendation is to spend at least three days in the area. This will give you the opportunity to truly immerse yourself in the power of nature, the richness of the local culture, and the vibrancy of local life. It’s a win-win situation: get a more fulfilling experience, and we get to reduce the impact on our environment.

We’re particularly excited about our winter promotion. It’s a time when our guests can enjoy even more unique travel experiences and create unforgettable memories. From snowshoeing to cosy evenings by the fire, there’s something for everyone to enjoy during the winter in Kranjska Gora.
