We are committed to ensuring that guests with reservations at Erjavčeva Koča will be transported to the hut to the best of our ability, minimizing any inconvenience.

The planned closure period may change due to weather conditions.
Due to the renovation of the regional road and the construction of parking areas, the road over Vršič Pass will be closed entirely from October 1 to 11 2024 every day, except on weekends, from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Outside of this time frame, the road will be partially closed.

According to the Infrastructure Directorate, storm drainage and drainage systems are being worked on during the renovation of the regional road and the arrangement of parking lots at the top of the Vršič Pass. The work is taking place under a partial road closure, with alternating one-way traffic regulated by traffic lights. Occasional full closures are also planned, the first of which will occur from Tuesday, October 1 2024, to Friday, October 11 2024.

Thus, the road will be completely closed every day, except on weekends, from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Outside these hours and on weekends, a partial closure will be in effect. The Directorate also warns that the closure period may change due to weather conditions.

During the total closure, a detour will be in place for all vehicles on the route Kranjska Gora–Rateče–Italy–PredelBovec.

They have long been dealing with traffic chaos

Work is expected to continue until December 24 2024 or as long as weather permits. Limited work will also occur in April and May next year, as construction is not allowed on this road during the tourist season. Most of the work will continue next fall until the end of the year when the construction work is scheduled to be completed.

The Vršič Pass, which connects Kranjska Gora and Trenta, has long struggled with traffic chaos. The pass is a popular tourist destination and a starting point for hikers. In the past, vehicles were parked everywhere, even on both sides of the road, often leaving insufficient space for emergency vehicles. At the top of the pass, up to 350 vehicles could park in these unregulated parking areas.

Rest assured, officers are now regulating traffic, and parking availability at the top of Vršič is communicated through the emergency center. A sign in the valley also indicates parking availability, ensuring a smooth and organized experience for all.

We are committed to ensuring that guests with reservations at Erjavčeva Koča are transported to the hut as efficiently as possible, minimizing any inconvenience.
