The nature in the Triglav National Park is beautiful and exciting in all seasons. We are also open almost all year round. However, we are located at 1,525 meters above sea level, which can quickly bring snow and, thus, a possible roadblock. Despite the team’s hard work, which ensures that the road is usually passable, we may be inaccessible one day. Either due to the danger of avalanches or other inconveniences when the road is forbidden to be ploughed.

The bus connection only operates in the high summer season, so if the road is closed, you will only have to visit the cottage on foot. This is the only way to consume the national park’s nature in its full charm.

So access to the mountain hut in winter can be tricky, but no need to worry. We can also transport you and/or your luggage with a snow sledge for a fee if there is enough snow. In the event of a complete road closure, but only in a life-threatening situation, we can always call a helicopter rescue.
