The peak Planja is located between two alpine valleys. On the northern side lies the Mlinarica Valley, and on the southern side lies the Zadnjica Valley. The summit has a beautiful view of the neighbouring Razor and the peaks around the Kriški podi. The summit has plenty of space and contains a logbook.

About the Hike to Planja

Planja is a striking alpine peak on the southern ridge of Razor, rising between two dramatic mountain valleys in the Julian Alps. To the north lies the Mlinarica Valley, while the Zadnjica Valley stretches to the south. Although it is often overshadowed by nearby Razor, Planja is a magnificent mountain in its own right and one of the most impressive peaks in this part of Slovenia.

From the summit, hikers can enjoy outstanding views of Razor and the surrounding high-mountain landscape. Because of its position above the Kriški podi area, Planja is often seen during longer alpine tours, especially on routes connecting Vršič, Razor, and Pogačnikov dom.

As an independent hiking goal, Planja is less frequently chosen than some better-known peaks nearby, but it remains an important mountain for experienced alpine hikers. Many visitors reach it while continuing towards Razor or while crossing the high mountain terrain between the Vršič Pass and the Kriški podi plateau.

Planja is also known for its dramatic climbing faces. It has two major alpine walls, the South Face and the North Face, with the South Face being especially famous among climbers as one of the steepest climbing walls in Slovenia.
