Due to its relatively high starting altitude, Velika Mojstrovka is among the most visited peaks in the Julian Alps.

About the hike to Velika Mojstrovka

From the summit, which has a registration box (located just below the top), there is a beautiful view of the neighbouring Mala Mojstrovka, Mangart, Slemenova Špica, Ponce, and the peaks above the Krnica Valley, where Škrlatica and Prisank stand out.

One of the more easily accessible Slovenian two-thousanders is not to be taken lightly, especially if approached via the secured Hanzova Pot (Hanz’s Route) across the northern wall. Prisank dominates the views from the top on the other side of the pass, and although the descent via the easiest route is reasonable, the eroded scree and rocks with small stones still require some caution.
