About the hike to Šitna Glava

From the parking lot at Vršič, we take the marked trail to Mojstrovka and Sleme. Soon after a short ascent, we arrive at a large rock with mountain signs. Left for Mojstrovka, right for Mojstrovka via Hanz’s Path. We go left. Initially, we walk through a sparse pine forest and reach a scree below Mojstrovka. As we near the wall below Mojstrovka, we notice an unmarked fork. We continue sharply to the right from there. From there on, the trail is unmarked. A narrow, sometimes poorly visible path leads us through the valley between Mojstrovka and Šitna Glava. We then arrive at a more rocky area and soon after to the beautifully scenic grassy summit.

The hike to Šitna Glava is relatively easy and does not require significant effort. Therefore, it is suitable for independent walks, even for young children, and for parents with carriers or backpacks for carrying children. Many children will be able to conquer their first two-thousander at Šitna Glava.
