Haven’t booked your winter holiday yet? Experience it in Kranjska Gora.

Kranjska Gora is something truly special in winter. Every day brings a new snowy backdrop, new views, and new experiences. Erjavčeva Mountain Hut is only 8 kilometres from Kranjska Gora and is located between the 22nd and 23rd hairpin bends of the Russian Road (206), also known as the road to the Vršič Pass, just two bends before the very top of the Vršič Pass.
Winter school holidays are the perfect time to create memories together—memories you’ll be happy to relive for many years to come. Children’s eyes shine a little brighter in the snow, laughter rings louder, and moments become truly precious.
Welcome to Kranjska Gora, one of the most popular winter destinations in Slovenia.

Skiing Without Borders

Kranjska Gora is not just a local ski resort, but a true starting point for international skiing adventures. With the Julian Alps Ski Pass, a single ski pass allows you to ski in Slovenia, Austria, and Italy—while enjoying the comfort of staying in Kranjska Gora.
In the morning, you can carve turns on the local slopes of Mount Vitranc, and in the afternoon, you may already be leaving your tracks on the white slopes beyond the borders. Different terrains, views, and skiing experiences all in one holiday create the perfect combination for the whole family.

Carefree Family Skiing

Everything in Kranjska Gora is ready for the perfect start to your winter ski holiday. Instead of morning stress and searching for parking, you can simply hop on the free ski bus and enjoy your winter activities. As befits a family-friendly ski resort, Kranjska Gora and its surroundings offer modern ski rental shops, professional ski schools, and experienced instructors who combine learning, movement, and fun.
The Kranjska Gora ski resort offers 13 slopes of varying difficulty, from easy runs to more demanding terrain, as well as 10 ski lifts that quickly take you to the top. Additional variety is provided by the smaller ski resort in Mojstrana, especially popular with families and beginners.
While children learn snow skills through play, parents can enjoy the slopes or challenge themselves on the famous Podkoren slope, where World Cup races are held every year. For moments of relaxation, a snow beach awaits just below the ski slopes, with cosy cafés, warm drinks, and views of the snow-covered runs.

Winter Activities for All Generations

Just a few minutes’ drive from Kranjska Gora lies Planicathe valley of ski flying and world records. Ice skating at the Ledena Planica rink, surrounded by impressive ski jumps and views of snow-covered peaks, is a special experience for the whole family. During the winter holidays, the rink is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., making it a relaxed place for fun at any time of day.
For those who enjoy simple winter pleasures, a pile of fresh snow and children’s laughter are enough. Kranjska Gora is one of the rare destinations in Slovenia where not only the ski slopes but also the surrounding area are blanketed in white, creating a true winter fairy tale. To experience the snow in a different way, families can go sledging from Tamar or Krnica, or take a walk along snowy paths. Red cheeks, snow-covered gloves, and children’s laughter create unforgettable moments that stay etched deep in memory.
There is nothing more beautiful than gliding through a winter landscape on cross-country skis. Kranjska Gora and its surroundings offer daily-groomed cross-country skiing trails suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers. The trails run from Rateče to Planica and onward into Tamar. Spruce trees dressed in their winter coats accompany you all the way to the final destination—the mountain hut in Tamar.

Relaxation After a Day in the Snow

When the skis are put away, and Kranjska Gora is wrapped in the evening twilight, another side of winter begins. Wellness centres in the destination offer indoor pools, saunas, massages, and relaxation treatments.
Views of snow-covered peaks and the winter idyll serve as natural therapy, helping the body regenerate and the mind calm. The body rests while thoughts already plan the next turns and moments the morning in Kranjska Gora will bring.

The Lively Pulse of Kranjska Gora

When the sun sets behind the mountain peaks, Kranjska Gora is far from quiet. The evening pulse of the town truly comes alive. In the centre of the town lies a charming Alpine village, where daytime strolls among stalls offering local crafts set a relaxed pace, while in the evening the square transforms into a stage for true winter experiences.
Nearby, in the Ljudski dom cultural centre, you’ll find Kino Kranjska Gora, which offers a diverse film program during the winter holidays. Children will enjoy animated films such as Tom and Jerry and Zootropolis 2, while adults can treat themselves to a relaxed evening at the cinema.
