The hill was first constructed in 1934 and since then has undergone several renovations and expansions, including the construction of a new hill in 2015, which is now the giant ski jumping hill in the world.

It is designed to allow jumpers to achieve great distances, and many ski jumping records have been set here, including the first jump over 100 meters in 1936 and the current world record of 253.5 meters set by Stefan Kraft of Austria in 2017.
