Summer is over, and life on the hill will slowly calm down. Autumn is already in the air, the temperature is getting colder, fewer people are around, and the larches are gradually changing colour. For us who live at Vršič mountain pass year-round, this is a signal to prepare for winter.

When life quiets down, and the animals in the national park dare to come closer to the valley again, we will once more be able to enjoy the unique winter idyll that only a few get to witness.

We also strive to encourage our younger generation to take a break from the fast-paced modern life, even for a short period, and especially to live a day without their mobile phones and the internet. Therefore, at the beginning of the following year, we will organize a gathering to explore the sky and the stars. For this purpose, we have brought out a highly respected and powerful telescope, which will broaden our horizons and give us a lot of fun. We will gaze at planets and nebulae and deep into space through the lenses of the giant Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain SC 279/2800 EdgeHD 1100 CPC Deluxe.

Stargazing at Erjavčeva’s hut

During our stargazing session, we will observe, share our thoughts, and even capture some photographs, thanks to the telescope’s astrophotography capabilities.

Those who feel cold can warm up in the mountain hut using the bread oven, drinking tea, and playing board games.

We know that evenings like this will be fun for all generations.
If fate does not grant us a clear sky, we will count clouds and try our luck the next day.
