Safely in the summer and in winter

In Slovenia, among the traffic regulations you should note the obligatory use of dipped (low-beam) headlights even during daytime driving. Use of fog lights is permitted only where visibility is reduced to less than 50 metres. The driver and all passengers in the vehicle must wear seat belts. A safety triangle, a spare set of light bulbs, a first aid kit and a reflective vest are compulsory equipment in cars. Winter equipment is compulsory from 15 November to 15 March. Winter tyres should have at least a 3-millimetre profile. If you have summer tyres, make sure you have snow chains in the car. Drive safe. Do not drink alcoholic beverages when driving!

Slovenia’s highest regions are surprisingly rich in nature and biodiversity. They are particularly preserved in Triglav National Park, the Julian Alps Biosphere Reserve, the UNESCO Karavanke Geopark and other protected areas.
