Guest Wi-Fi and internet access at Erjavčeva koča

Is guest Wi-Fi available in the mountain hut?

Wi-Fi username: Guest
Wi-Fi password: youshouldtalktoeachother

Guest Wi-Fi is available at Erjavčeva koča mountain hut, but visitors should understand that internet access in a mountain hut at Vršič Pass is different from internet access in a hotel, apartment, office, or town. The hut is located in Triglav National Park, 1,525 meters above sea level, surrounded by mountains, forest, rock walls, snow, and fast-changing weather conditions.

The internet is still a luxury in a mountain hut in this location. We provide guest Wi-Fi, but the connection can sometimes be slower, unstable, or more difficult to use than visitors may expect in the valley.

The hut is located in the middle of the mountains, where mobile phone signal and standard internet connections are difficult to provide. Because of the terrain and the position of Erjavčeva koča, the signal can be hard to receive and may depend on weather, snow, storms, visitor numbers, technical conditions, and satellite visibility.

To improve internet access for our guests, we upgraded the satellite internet connection and installed high-quality routers and mesh Wi-Fi equipment inside the hut. When the hut is not overcrowded and the weather is good, the guest Wi-Fi connection usually works very well.

However, even with modern equipment, internet in the mountains can never be guaranteed in the same way as in the valley. In bad weather, heavy snow, storms, or very busy periods, the connection may become slower or temporarily unavailable.

Useful information before your stay

If you need internet for work, online meetings, travel planning, banking, maps, or urgent communication, we recommend preparing important information before arriving at the hut. Download your maps, reservation details, road information, weather forecast, and emergency contacts in advance.

For more information about connection problems in the mountains, please read our page about slow Wi-Fi and no phone signal at Erjavčeva koča.

If you are staying overnight, you may also find it useful to read about private room and dormitory bed reservations, drinking water at the hut, showers in the mountain hut, and dinner in the restaurant.

Visitors arriving without their own car can also check information about transportation to Vršič Pass.

A place to disconnect

Erjavčeva koča is a good place to connect to the internet when needed, but it is also a good place to disconnect from screens. Slow Wi-Fi or no phone signal can be a reminder to enjoy the mountains, the forest, the night sky, the fresh air, and the peaceful atmosphere of Triglav National Park.

You can still take photos, enjoy your stay, and share your memories later when the connection is better. The real luxury at Vršič Pass is outside the screen.
