Blankets, pillows and warm rooms at Erjavčeva koča mountain hut

Will I be warm enough during the night?

Yes. At Erjavčeva koča mountain hut, we do our best to keep guests warm and comfortable throughout the year. The hut is located at Vršič Pass, 1,525 meters above sea level, where nights can be cold even in summer and where mountain weather can change quickly.

We live in the mountain hut all year round, so we know very well what it means to live high in the mountains. Beautiful views of the Julian Alps and Triglav National Park can also come with cold air, strong wind, rain, snow, and freezing winter conditions.

Because of this, heating and warmth are an important part of life at Erjavčeva koča. During the low season and colder periods, the fireplace and heating system help keep the hut cosy and welcoming. We prefer warm rooms, comfortable rest, and guests who sleep well before another day in the mountains.

We have plenty of warm blankets and pillows available for overnight guests. If you would like an extra blanket or pillow, please inform the hut staff. We have enough to share and will gladly help whenever possible.

A mountain hut is not a hotel in the valley, but warmth, rest, and a good night’s sleep are still important. After hiking, travelling, cycling, skiing, or exploring Vršič Pass, guests should be able to relax, warm up, and recover.

Ask before you are cold

If you feel cold during your stay, please tell the hut staff as soon as possible. Do not wait until the morning. In most cases, we can provide an extra blanket, pillow, or advice to make your night more comfortable.

Mountain weather can be unpredictable, but inside Erjavčeva koča we want guests to feel safe, warm, and welcome.

Sleeping comfort in a mountain hut

Rooms in a mountain hut are simple and practical, but they provide what guests need most after a day outside: a clean bed, warmth, blankets, pillows, rest, and shelter from the mountain weather.

The real luxury is outside in the mountains, but inside the hut we make sure that guests have the basic comfort needed for a pleasant overnight stay at Vršič Pass.
