Do I need to pay a deposit for the room key?

When you pick up your room key or digital key at Erjavčeva koča mountain hut, a €10 key deposit must be paid.

The key deposit is returned when you return the key. If the key is not returned, the deposit is used to cover the cost of replacing or managing the missing key.

Can more guests in the same room get more keys?

Yes. If more guests are staying in the same room, additional keys can be provided when needed. Please ask the hut staff during check-in.

Do guests usually lock their rooms?

In mountain huts, the atmosphere is often more relaxed than in hotels in the valley. Many local guests and regular visitors do not lock their rooms at all. However, if you prefer to lock your room, you can use the room key provided at check-in.

Erjavčeva koča is a mountain hut at Vršič Pass, and the culture of staying in a hut is based on trust, respect, shared spaces, and consideration for other guests.

Why do we use digital locks?

During the last renovation, we changed the door locks and introduced digital locks. One of the main reasons was that some guests accidentally took room keys with them after leaving the hut.

Because Erjavčeva koča is located high in the mountains at Vršič Pass, far from the city of Jesenice, duplicating lost keys was not simple or practical. Digital locks helped us solve this problem and made room key management easier, safer, and more efficient.

Please return your key before departure

Before check-out, please return your room key to the hut staff. Returning the key helps us prepare the room for the next guests and keeps the check-in process simple for everyone staying overnight at Erjavčeva koča.
