Showering

At Erjavčeva mountain hut, water is a precious resource. Like many mountain huts in Triglav National Park, we are not connected to a public water supply system. Our water comes from the mountain environment nearby, which means that every litre must be used carefully.

Because of this, we kindly ask all guests to save water whenever possible. This is especially important in summer, during dry periods and when the hut is full. Responsible water use helps us keep the hut operating, protects the mountain environment and makes sure that there is enough water for all guests.

Are Showers Available at the Hut?

Yes. Showers are available for guests staying at Erjavčeva Koča. Guests receive free shower tokens as part of their overnight stay. Unlike many mountain huts, where shower tokens are charged separately, the shower token is already included in the price of your sleeping reservation.

Please note that shower time is limited. The token system helps prevent unnecessarily long showers and allows more guests to use the available water fairly.

Why Is Shower Time Limited?

Mountain huts have limited natural resources. Water supply can change depending on the season, rainfall, snowmelt, dry weather and the number of guests staying at the hut. During busy summer periods, saving water becomes especially important.

The limited shower time is not meant to make your stay uncomfortable. It is a practical and fair way to reduce water waste, protect the mountain environment and make sure that everyone has access to basic washing facilities.

How to Use the Shower Responsibly

Please use your shower token wisely. Start the water only when you are ready, stop the water while shampooing or soaping, and keep the shower short. A quick mountain shower is enough to refresh yourself after hiking, cycling or travelling over Vršič Pass.

Saving water is part of responsible travel in the Julian Alps and Triglav National Park. It is one of the small things visitors can do to reduce their impact while staying in a protected alpine area.

Additional Showers During Busy Periods

When the hut is crowded, additional showers may also be available in the basement. If the doors are locked, please ask the hut staff for the PIN code or instructions. The staff will explain which showers are available and how to use them.

Towels

Please bring your own towel if possible. Larger towels may be available at the hut for an additional charge, depending on availability. If you need one, ask the hut staff when you arrive.

Simple Rule for Guests

Use only the water you need. Take a short shower, turn off the water while soaping or shampooing, and remember that water in a mountain hut is not unlimited. Your responsible use helps us provide showers, food, cleaning and basic services for all guests.
