Check-in and check-out at Erjavčeva koča mountain hut

When can I arrive for check-in?

Check-in for overnight guests at Erjavčeva koča mountain hut is possible from 12:00 to 19:00. We kindly ask guests to arrive during this time, because the hut is a mountain hut at Vršič Pass, not a hotel with a 24-hour reception.

In exceptional cases, and only by prior arrangement, check-in may be possible until 21:00. Please contact us in advance if you know that you will arrive late.

After 21:00, check-in is not possible. We also cannot guarantee self check-in, because the hut, rooms, guest areas, staff availability, and safety procedures do not work in the same way as in a hotel or apartment in the valley.

Check-out time

Check-out is until 10:00. Late check-out may be charged €10 per hour, depending on availability and the daily situation in the hut.

Different arrival or departure times may be discussed in advance, especially in the low season or for larger groups, but they must always be confirmed by the hut staff.

Breakfast information

If you would like to have breakfast the next morning, it is best to let us know by 19:00. This helps us prepare properly, because we bake bread during the night and need to know how many guests will have breakfast.

Breakfast planning is especially important in a mountain hut, where food preparation, supplies, staff planning, and overnight service must be organised carefully.

Late arrivals and night hours

We cannot receive guests during the night hours when the mountain hut is closed. Like in other mountain huts and guest houses, guests in the sleeping areas expect peace and quiet during the night.

Quiet hours are from 22:00 to 07:00. During this time, guests should avoid noise in the sleeping areas, corridors, stairs, bathrooms, and shared spaces.

Special check-in or check-out arrangements may only be discussed if you have reserved the whole hut or if there are no other overnight guests affected by the change.

We appreciate your understanding and your respect for check-in time, check-out time, staff working hours, and other guests staying overnight at Erjavčeva koča.

Plan your arrival before coming to Vršič Pass

Erjavčeva koča is located at Vršič Pass in the Julian Alps, where weather, road conditions, snow, traffic, hiking time, and daylight can affect your arrival. Please plan enough time to reach the hut before the end of check-in.

If you expect to arrive after 19:00, contact us as early as possible. If you expect to arrive after 21:00, please understand that check-in is not possible.
