Boka waterfall, Slovenia
Boka Waterfall, also known as Slap Boka, is one of the most powerful and spectacular waterfalls in Slovenia, located near Bovec in the upper Soča Valley. With a total height of about 144 metres and a width of around 18 metres, it is one of the most impressive natural sights in the Julian Alps. The waterfall is fed by a karst spring beneath the limestone slopes of the Kanin mountain area, which gives Boka its remarkable force, especially in spring when snow melts and after heavy rainfall. Because it is visible from the road between Bovec and Kobarid, Boka Waterfall is an easy and rewarding stop for travellers exploring the Soča River, Triglav National Park and the wild alpine landscape of western Slovenia.
