The importance of Krma Valley is closely connected with Slovenian mountaineering tradition, because it is one of the most popular and generally considered the easiest long approach to Mount Triglav, Slovenia’s highest mountain. The route through Krma leads toward Kredarica and the high alpine world below Triglav, but it is still a serious mountain journey that requires good preparation, proper equipment, stable weather and respect for changing conditions. Krma is also interesting as a dry valley, where the Krmarica torrential stream appears during rainfall and feeds the Radovna River, showing how water shapes the hidden natural systems of the Julian Alps. In winter, the valley is valued by ski tourers, while in summer it offers peaceful walking, alpine views and access to some of the most meaningful landscapes in Triglav National Park. From Erjavčeva mountain hut on Vršič Pass, Krma Valley can be included in a scenic alpine journey through Kranjska Gora, Mojstrana, Vrata, Kot and the most important mountain valleys below Triglav.
