Tromeja, also known as Peč, Monte Forno, Dreiländereck or Ofen, is one of the most symbolic viewpoints near Kranjska Gora and Rateče. Rising to about 1,508 metres in the Karawanks, it marks the meeting point of three countries: Slovenia, Italy and Austria. This makes Tromeja much more than a mountain viewpoint; it is a place where three borders, three languages and three alpine cultures meet. From the summit, visitors can enjoy wide views toward the Julian Alps, the Gailtal Alps, the Gurktal Alps, the High and Low Tauern and the western Karawanks, making it a rewarding destination for hikers, cyclists, photographers and travellers exploring the alpine borderlands of Slovenia.
