Zapotok Waterfalls, known in Slovenian as Zapotoški slapovi, are one of the wildest and least commercial waterfall areas in the upper Soča Valley, hidden in Zadnja Trenta inside Triglav National Park. The waterfalls are created by the Suhi potok stream, whose source lies on the Zapotok alpine pasture at around 1,385 metres above sea level. Unlike easier and more visited waterfalls in Slovenia, Zapotok has a remote alpine character, shaped by moraines, steep slopes, narrow terrain and the dramatic mountain world below the peaks around Zadnja Trenta. The main waterfall is a powerful double cascade reaching up to 73 metres, making it one of the highest and most impressive waterfalls in Triglav National Park, but also one of the more difficult to access safely.
