Mangart saddle, Slovenia
Mangart Saddle, known in Slovenian as Mangartsko sedlo, is one of the most spectacular high-mountain destinations in the Julian Alps. Located at around 2,055 metres below Mount Mangart, it is reached by the highest alpine road in Slovenia, a dramatic route of steep bends, tunnels, exposed sections and unforgettable mountain views. The saddle lies above the upper Soča Valley and close to the Italian border, offering panoramic views toward Mangart, Log pod Mangartom, Bovec, the Julian Alps and the nearby Italian mountain landscape.
