Vrata valley, Mojstrana, Slovenia
Vrata Valley, known in Slovenian as Dolina Vrata, is one of the most famous and dramatic glacial valleys in Triglav National Park. Starting near Mojstrana and leading deep into the Julian Alps, the valley is best known as the gateway to the mighty north face of Mount Triglav, Slovenia’s highest mountain. Its landscape is shaped by forests, alpine meadows, the Triglavska Bistrica stream, steep rock walls and some of the most powerful mountain views in the country. For hikers, photographers and nature lovers, Vrata Valley is one of the most important places to experience the raw beauty, scale and history of the Slovenian Alps.
