Mount Krn is one of the most recognisable mountains in the southwestern Julian Alps, rising to 2,244 metres above the emerald Soča Valley. As the highest peak of the Krn mountain group, it offers wide panoramic views toward the Soča River, the Adriatic side of Slovenia, Triglav National Park and the surrounding alpine valleys. Krn is especially known for its strong and solitary shape, rising high above the landscape and creating one of the most impressive mountain silhouettes in western Slovenia. For hikers, photographers and travellers exploring the Soča Valley, Bovec, Kobarid and Trenta, Mount Krn is a powerful symbol of the wild beauty and dramatic history of the Julian Alps.
