Gozd Martuljek is a peaceful alpine village near Kranjska Gora, located in the Upper Sava Valley beneath one of the most dramatic mountain skylines in the Julian Alps. The village is especially known for its magnificent views of Mount Špik and the wild Martuljek mountain group, which give this area a powerful and authentic alpine character. Historically, the settlement was known as Gozd or Rute, and in 1955 it received the name Gozd–Martuljek, connected with the forested landscape and the Martuljek stream. Today, it is an excellent destination for travellers who want to experience quiet mountain scenery, traditional alpine atmosphere, hiking trails, cycling routes and easy access to some of the most beautiful natural sights near Kranjska Gora.
