Sovna glava mountain, Slovenia
Sovna glava is a peaceful grassy summit above Vršič Pass in the Julian Alps, rising to 1,750 metres between Prisank and Slovenia’s highest mountain road pass. Although it is much lower and less demanding than the famous peaks around it, Sovna glava offers beautiful panoramic views toward Prisank, the Mojstrovka ridge, the Trenta Valley and the mountain scenery above the historic Russian Road. Its open slopes, easy access from the Vršič area and quiet alpine atmosphere make it a rewarding destination for hikers, photographers and visitors who want to experience the Julian Alps without committing to a long high-mountain ascent.
